Andreas Christensen provides update on Chelsea contract talks

Andreas Christensen has confirmed Chelsea contract talks are going well.

The Danish defender has his current contract expiring at the end of the season and has been offered a new deal. Chelsea have reportedly put a 4-year contract with the option of a further year on his table.

Andreas Christensen stared in both World Cup qualifiers this month for Denmark. He was speaking with Ekstra Bladet when he was quizzed on the Chelsea contract talks. He said:

“I know a lot is being said right now. I can not say too much, but I think it looks good. We have won the Champions League and the Super Cup. I am very happy to be at this club and feel Chelsea are the right place to be in England.”

Andreas Christensen has been a regular part of Chelsea’s first team ever since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. The German manager has used him in his back three and sees him a vital part of his plans at Stamford Bridge.

Apart from Andreas Christensen, Chelsea are also looking to get deals agreed with Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta soon. Both defenders also have their contracts expiring at the end of the season.
