Arsenal are reportedly lining up a move for Ajax right-back Noussair Mazraoui as they look to shore up their backline ahead of the new Premier League season.
Moroccan outlet DM Sport report that Mazraoui, who is entering the final year of his contract, has emerged as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s primary target this summer. Arsenal were linked with Mazraoui in 2019, but a deal did not come to fruition.
The 23-year-old Morocco international is reportedly available for a fee in the region of 10-15 million pounds. Mazraoui made 19 league appearances this past season for Ajax, who clinched the Eredivisie trophy for the 35th time.
Arsenal, who are set to part ways with Hector Bellerin in the summer, could face competition from Bayern Munich for Mazraoui’s signature. Unlike Arsenal, Bayern would offer Mazraoui Champions League football, although the 23-year-old is unlikely to be a regular starter in Germany.
