Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Ajax’s Andre Onana and could make a move for the goalkeeper in the summer.
Onana is currently serving a 12-month doping ban but he has filed an appeal, which was heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Wednesday. If successful, the suspension could be overturned or brought down to eight months.
Arsenal view the Cameroon international as a long-term replacement for Bernd Leno, who could leave the London club during the transfer window. According to reports, Onana could be available for as little as 8 million pounds if his suspension is not overturned.
Onana has developed into one of the finest young goalkeepers in the world. Despite being just 25, he has made over 200 appearances for Ajax since his senior debut in 2016.
However, it remains to be seen if he is willing to move to Arsenal, who will not be able to offer him immediate Champions League football. Liverpoool are also reportedly monitoring Onana’s situation.
