La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Atalanta’s Robin Gosens with the Catalans look to remodel their squad as they hope to increase their left-back options.
According to the Sport, The Catalans have kept tabs on the 26-year-old defender. Barca is keen on bringin a new defender to his squad and has identified the 26-year-old left-back as a potential target.
Barca is keen on selling Junior Firpo this summer and also has Junior Balde in the B team who is highly rated. It is understood that the Calatans want Alba to take a pay-cut in his salary and If he does not then he may be put up on the market too. Atalanta want 40 million for him but are open to player exchanges.
The German defender has been impressive for the Serie A outfit and played an important role by scoring ten goals and assisting eight this campaign and has attracted interest from European clubs. Barca sees Gosens as a defender who will fit in Ronaldo Koeman’s system and is capable of playing as a left-back in a four-man defense system.
On the other hand, the club have also added Valencia’s Vincent Gaya and RB Leipzig’s Angelino on the list if they fail to sign the German defender. Angelino is currently valued around 30 million.
However, the Catalans will be facing a tough competition as Man City, Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan are expected to make a move for Robin Gosens.
