Chelsea lining up eye-watering move for €100m Serie A striker

Chelsea are keen on improving their frontline and are expected to offer €100m for Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian striker departed Stamford Bridge in 2014 but a return could be on the cards as the Blues look for a new striker to lead their attack. However, it is understood that Inter Milan are likely to reject any bid from Chelsea for Lukaku.

According to Calciomercato, Manchester City are also interested in signing Lukaku as a replacement for Sergio Aguero who will depart the club at the end of the campaign.

Current Inter boss Antonio Conte is a keen admirer of Lukaku and was close to signing the Belgian when he was in charge of Chelsea. Eventually, Lukaku opted to sign for the Red Devils and the Blues had to settle for Alvaro Morata.

Lukaku has rediscovered his form since joining Inter and was instrumental in the club winning the Scudetto for the first time since 2010.

Lukaku joined Chelsea in 2011 and had loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Everton before being signed by the Toffees on a permanent basis in 2014. He moved to Manchester United in 2017 for £75m but after being used sparingly by Ole Gunnar Solsjaker, he departed the Theatre Of Dreams in 2019.
