Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin had attracted interests from the Red Devils when the transfer market opened only for them to back out according to the Sun.
The reports confirmed that Ole Gunner Solskjaer had targeted the 23-year-old striker and was keen on bringing him to the Theatre of Dreams and playing alongside Martial, Greenwood and Rashford.
But when United made an inquiry about the player, they were stunned that the Toffees had demanded £80 million for the striker before the start of the season.
The former Sheffield man is tipped to be in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming trips against Wales , Belgium and Denmark. Ancelotti also said that he would be a top striker in England and in Europe.
Calvert-Lewin scored a hattrick in a 5-2 win against the Hawthorns and has been on an impressive goalscoring form since Carlo Ancelotti was appointed as the manager.
