PSG and Tottenham are reportedly interested in Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger this summer as both clubs look to increase their defensive options.
According to the Metro, the center-back has just one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and as of yet, there are no talks scheduled over a potential extension although he has suggested that conversations could take place after the conclusion of European Championship this summer.
The 28-year-old defender joined Chelsea from Roma £29 million on a five-year deal when Antonio Conte was in charge and went on to win the FA Cup under the Italian coach. The Blues face a tough situation to retain Rudiger’s services.
Rudiger was frozen out of the squad under ex-boss Frank Lampard after the Blues signed veteran Thiago Silva. Since the appointment of Thomas Tuchel, the German defender remained with the team and went on to become a key player in the club’s resurgence as Chelsea went on to win the Champions League for the second time as well as finishing in the top four.
PSG were keen on bringing Rudiger to the French capital last season. Apart from the French giants, Spurs were also reportedly targetting the 28-year-old center-back with ex-boss Jose Mourinho particularly showing interest in signing him.
However, it is understood that the Blues will face tough competition again from the Paris giants and Spurs as both clubs will be looking to land their target following his triumph in the Champions League.
