Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez is set to become a free agent this summer and could on the verge of departing Los Blancos after rejecting a contract extension.
According to abc, Real Madrid offered a contract extension to Vazquez, but the player turned it down believing he deserved a better contract and unlike Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric, he wont get an extension with the club.
Madrid boss Zidane is a big admirer of Vazquez, but due to the finances adversely affected by the pandemic, the club couldn’t offer a pay-rise to the winger.
The 30-year-old winger has featured as a right-back this season has been impressive in his new position in recent years. Bayern Munich have expressed their interest in signing Vazquez and the Bundesliga champions hope to add him as a cover for Benjamin Pavard as well as fourth choice winger alongside Gnabry, Coman and Sane.
The defending European champions face stiff competition from Chelsea, AC Milan and Manchester United for securing Vazquez’s signature.
Lucas Vazquez rejoined Madrid from Espanyol and was part of the side that went on to win three back-to-back UEFA Champions League under Zinedine Zidane.
